
Travel Channel International Limited (abbr. TCI) is a commercial television broadcasting company headquartered in London, United Kingdom. The company operates travel-themed television channels in the EMEA regions and Asia Pacific, spanning 21 on-air languages, under the Travel Channel brand. Despite the name, it had no relation with the American television channel of the same name, until the company was acquired in May 2012 by Scripps Networks Interactive in Knoxville, United States, which acquired the American channel in 2009.

History
Travel Channel EMEA was launched in February 1994.
Travel Channel International began to offer their high definition channel, Travel Channel HD, throughout Europe on 15 November 2010 and consequently Asia. On 25 March 2013, Travel Channel received refreshed branding, with an overhaul of its scheduling and programming.

TCI uses 20 satellite feeds to reach over 850 cable, satellite and IPTV platforms in 125 territories.

United Kingdom and Ireland
A second sister channel, Travel Channel 2 launched on Sky Digital on 11 February 2008 but closed on 2 March 2009 when the EPG slot was sold to TCM UK.
On 2 April 2013, the channel was launched on Freesat, a free-to-air satellite television platform in the United Kingdom.
As of 2017, the British version doesn't carry an HD simulcast.

Programming
Travel Channel's lineup consists of programming involving travel, such as guides to holiday planning, and traditional documentary programming about destinations, cuisine, culture, nature and shopping, along with other types of travel such as backpacking, culinary tourism, ecotourism and luxury tourism.
